Living out amongst nature inspires Sandra Bennett every day. She lives in a sleepy little rural community where her closest neighbours are the kangaroos grazing in her front paddock. The occasional surprise visitors can range from wombats or echidnas to wild boar or nasty snakes and spiders. She loves the array of native birds that nest and feed amongst her garden. Sandra finds it is just far enough away from the city lights at night to enable her to gaze at a spectacular display of stars that blanket the evening sky so she can sit and ponder about the possibility of other life forms somewhere out there. Along with Sandra’s passion for encouraging children to have fun reading, she likes to combine science with humour to bring the impossible into the realm of possible with a little twist. Sandra has a Diploma in Children’s Writing, a Degree in Primary Teaching and a Graduate Diploma in ESL/LOTE. She was a Primary school teacher for over 25 years. During that time she has written several stories to encourage her students to want to learn to read. The idea for Gingerbread Aliens came from a mishap in the kitchen while cooking with her three sons and wanting to demonstrate to the children in her classes that from ordinary everyday situations extraordinary stories that are fun and entertaining can evolve http://sandrabennettauthor.com/ www.gingerbread-aliens.com http://www.amazon.com/Gingerbread-Aliens-ebook/dp/B009G4BDEI https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/gingerbread-aliens/id569972135?mt=11 https://www.facebook.com/GingerbreadAliens http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/6539129.Sandra_Bennett http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh6XG4WNUTg Fun and Hijinks
I was gifted this book for an honest review This is a fun little book. The author has captured the mischief and creativity of three little boys getting ready for an event. The work diligently on their preparations but somehow get sidetracked when something blows up. The whole thing turns to chaotic fun as they fool the school, the neighbors, and the government, for a while. I don’t want to spoil it for the reader, but it is delightful fun little tale. The only one not entertained is the principal of the school. I was afraid at first the kids would get away with their mischief and that does not set well with me. I totally believe in consequences for actions taken. I was not to be disappointed; it all works out in the end. This is a book many a little boy will love. It has everything, aliens, food and explosions! I thank the author for sharing it with me. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. https://www.facebook.com/events/329067127224261/?notif_t=plan_user_joined

I
ecently watched a movie called “Choice Point.” It says that when we’re at the end of a cycle in our lives, we come to a choice point. At a choice point, you have the opportunity to do three things: understand your world, align your purpose, and be the change you want to see in the world. Now, we may not always know when we have reached the end of one cycle in our lives, so life takes care of that and stops your old cycle in the form of a crisis, something to stop you from continuing in the direction you were going and set you off in a new direction, if you choose to do so. From Kandy’s book about Pie, it looks like horses (and other animals) are given choice points too. Pie suffered an accident which stopped him from continuing his old life and propelled him into a new one. His new life allowed him to see a broader view of the world and become something different. Apparently, life gives animals and humans alike chances to understand, grow wise, and make a difference, even when your choice point arrives when you are considered quite old and almost done with life. Nature gives you the chances to show courage, love, compassion, friendship, honor; all those qualities that make life worth something and shine light upon the world.
