First off, I must apologize. Su sent me this information last night and I was just about to post it when Mother Nature had other ideas. In our area we were hit with a 150 mile wide super cell Thunderstorm that spawned 5 tornadoes, 2 of which F4. They devastated many areas around us. We were lucky. We lost tree branches and several areas flooded, plus wind damage. I was worried about the horses, we had cloud to ground lightning three every minute for four hours. To make a long story short, we lost power and did not regain it until this morning. All the horses are fine, they were tucked safely in the barn and it is time to get on with this post. Once again, I apologize to Su and to the readers for the delay. I am used to this stuff, we call it springtime in Texas!
Here is everything you ever wanted to know about Dream Weavers!
1.
Does a Dream Weaver fall in the malevolent or benevolent
category?
OK.
First let me define what malevolent and benevolent mean. Malevolent – mean,
wicked, nasty. Benevolent – kind, compassionate, benign. Hm. Well…I suppose it
falls under a bit of both but definitely tips toward malevolent more. Reviewers
have called it ‘dark and atmospheric’, and that was the intent. It really isn’t
a ‘feel good’ book for the majority of the story. But it does have its
benevolent moments.
2.
What are the powers of a Dream Weaver?
A
Dream Weaver can cull and control the memories of humans with a touch. They can
change, manipulate, add or delete a memory. They are able to manipulate the
dreams of anyone they touch, as Nick does with Emari when she is suffering from
night terrors.
3.
What does a Dream Weaver look like?
A
Dream Weaver looks like any ordinary human being…at least in their corporeal
phase. If a Weaver shifts into his/her ethereal phase, their bodies sparkle like
a vampire on a sunny day and the evanesce into thin air.
4. Is a Dream Weaver
created or born?
An
Onar Caphar (Dream Weaver) is a genetic anomaly. An extremely rare genetic
anomaly…as seen in the population being only a few hundred in the United
States. Some teens will show signs of being Caphar but never
fully manifest as a Dream Weaver. The reason for this is unknown at present…but
you may find out in the next book, Rock Star.
5.
Are they a new supernatural or have they been around for awhile? How
long?
Before The Flood of Noah’s time, the
angels saw human women and thought they were beautiful. So the angels came to
Earth and took the women as wives. The offspring of these relationships were
called Nephilim. Most theologians believe that the Nephilim were the giants like
Goliath of Gath. No one knew about the other miraculous abilities of these
offspring…Onar Caphar. So Weavers have been around from pre-diluvial times. One
well-known Caphar from bible stories is Joseph. Though no one knew to attribute
his abilities to Capharism.
6. How does one know a Dream Weaver is
around?
You
pretty much never know if a Caphar has been around. They leave no trace of their
existence as anything other than human. However, there is a mutated form of
Weaver called Rephaim or Nightmare Wraith. They feed on the brainwaves caused by
nightmares, so they provoke nightmares in humans just to get the ‘high’ from
those altered brainwaves. Some cases of schizophrenia, multi-personality and
other mental disease can be attributed to the Rephaim’s heartless torture of
humans.
7.
How does one stop a Dream Weaver?
Anything that cause complete breakdown of
the bodily tissues will bring down a Caphar. So, lye, acid…If the head and body
are separated with no possibility of reuniting, say, in separate metal drums,
for at least 48 hours, that would do the trick. (I say 48 hours, because the
Weavers have the ability to regenerate up to that 48 hour mark.)
8.
Are they friends with or hang around with any other supernaturals?
No
such thing. Mortals only see Caphar as normal human beings. And even if they are
seen by humans in some Dream Weaver phase, all they have to do is erase the
memory. Weavers are as human as any human can be. It’s very easy for them to
remain hidden among the human population without any chance of detection.
9. How long do they
live?
A
typical Dream Weaver can live more than 10 times the normal human lifespan. The
normal human lifespan is approx. 77.7 years. So, they can live from 700 to 900
years. They age. But very, very, very slowly.
10. Is there anything else you would like
to add to this post you think your readers might need to know?
We started this interview with a
question about whether Dream Weaver is a malevolent or benevolent story. And
most decidedly said it leans toward malevolent. Dream Weaver is a tragedy, and
addresses subjects like teen depression, self-harm and suicide. I never, ever
want readers to think that I’m trying to glorify these subjects. On the
contrary, I think that the kids that deal with these kinds of darkness in their
lives just might find some hope, a light in that darkness.
OK. Enough of the heavy. Kandy,
thank you so much letting me stop by and chat with your friends. I’ve put Dream
Weaver on sale on Amazon and B&N for .99, so I hope readers will make the
tiny investment for it. So far, Dream Weaver has gotten very good ratings. It
holds a 4.2 out of 5 star rating.
My only question to your readers now
is…Do You DARE TO DREAM!?
